A- this teaser poster uses hermeneutic codes within the mise-en-scene to attract its target audience and create anticipation for the films release. this is demonstrated in the low key lighting and dark tones obstructing the identity of the character and the context/ background of the image that the audience may seek to confirm assumptions they build from the poster, ultimately attracting the audience.

P- the poster uses hermeneutic codes within the mis-en-scene to create mystery and anticipation in the audience as they can only confirm their assumptions about the film through watching it. ultimately using enigma codes to attract the audience and encourage them to consume the film product the teaser poster is promoting.

E- the use of hermeneutic codes can be seen in the mise-en-scene of the low key lighting and dark colour scheme. the heavy black background and low key lighting hides the identity of the character holding the cube, this hides the context of the image and allows the audience to only make assumptions about the character based on the limited and carefully constructed clues given by the producer. this mystery is further anchored by the unidentifiable cube being held, this unique prop has no context or anchorage to indicate its function or meaning, it is rather used as symbolism for the puzzle, implied in both the name 'escape room' and the audiences puzzle to work out what the film will be about and its narrative.
