adbuster magazine- website analysis

adbuster magazine- website analysis

the website uses its platform as a call for arms having a key focus on anarchism

this supports the ideologies of the producer and target audience, of going attempts to break stereotypical codes and against the system in an attempts to break away from social construct and control

it attempts to demonstrate this rebellion through breaking stereotypical codes and conventions within the website.

  • this includes colour and mis en scene- using black and white, a very monotone and unengaging theme. this redirects the audiences attention to the focus of their words and message, rather than being a typical magazine using bright graphics and pictures to draw an audiences attention.
  • within the website they also include artwork from Banksy- this is an intertextual reference of political pop culture that would be recognised by their target audience. this creates audience gratification that would further make readers feel apart and involved of the product and more likely to read on and further read the magazine as well.
